Welcome to Queensland Performing Arts Centre
Welcome to the Queensland Performing Arts Centre found in south Brisbane! This place is where you’ll find grand operas and edgy contemporary dance performances with its elegance and charm ambiance.
This is also known as QPAC, as the locals call it. It’s like the ultimate hub for all things artsy in Brisbane. It’s the place where you can feel both cultured and super comfy at the same time, plus the shows that everyone awaits!
Where is QPAC?

You’ll find QPAC at South Bank, which is basically the go-to spot for all things cultural and fun in the city. To be a bit more specific, it’s located on Grey Street, between the Victoria Bridge and the Goodwill Bridge.
If you know where the Wheel of Brisbane is, you’re super close and just a short walk away. It’s one of my favorite spots, making it super easy to grab a bite, take a stroll, or just chill before and after a show.
How to Get to QPAC?
Closest subway stop: If you’re taking public transport, just hop off at the South Brisbane train station; it’s literally right across the street.
Closest bus stop: You can catch any bus that heads to the Cultural Centre busway station, which is only a short walk away from QPAC.
Moreover, there are plenty of parking around the South Bank if you are driving, but I’d suggest the QPAC car park for convenience. For more details on routes and schedules, TransLink’s website has all the info you need.
Best Time to Go to QPAC
[Do NOT INCLUDE THIS UNLESS there’s a famous festival or event that happens specifically in this area that you can point to. If you have one, you can send readers to a piece about annual festivals in the city. Otherwise, forget it.]
If you are planning to go to the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, the best time would be in September because of the Brisbane Festival. It’s like the whole city comes alive with energy and creativity.
This is a massive celebration of arts and culture with stunning performances. However, if you can’t make it in September, keep an eye out for other big events like the Brisbane Comedy Festival or the Queensland Ballet’s seasonal performances.
