Betty’s Burgers impressed me with their branding. Before I even walked in, the place was already appealing with their wood and turquoise combination. The team was also quick to act– voicing out what’s available and making sure that I’m in the right place.

They walked me through the menu and never became impatient with my questions about the contents of the items. They gave me recommendations for combinations too. You don’t get that treatment everyday, especially not from a burger joint.

I eventually decided to try the Betty’s Deluxe, and I wasn’t disappointed one bit! The patty was beefy and juicy, the bacon was crispy, the toppings were stacked seamlessly and were fresh, and I’m still speechless about how good the sauce is.

I also highly recommend the Onion Rings over the French Fries. Yes, they cost a dollar more, but the crispy texture of the side alongside the tenderness of the burger is a match made in heaven.

And you have to try their vanilla thick shake. According to the menu, it’s made with frozen custard ice cream! It’s a perfect option to flush those oils down for a sweet finish.

Although I did hear about the food being inconsistent during busy hours– sometimes cold or just overall smaller servings. Maybe Betty’s Burgers can better prepare for those times of the day to make everything better. Regardless, I had a fantastic experience!

Pros

  • Appealing interior
  • Accommodating staff
  • Fresh ingredients

Cons

  • Inconsistent food during busy hours

Recommend this store, absolutely

It’s my first time visiting Betty’s Burger. Alex was at the counter and he did an excellent job! Introduced the menu and made great recommendations, all with a delightful mood and friendly patience. I ordered Betty’s Classic Burger and felt very good about the food. Recommend this store, absolutely. Alex, thank you for the great work!

Everything was served hot and fresh

I had an amazing experience here! The burger was juicy, flavorful, and stacked perfectly with fresh toppings. The combination of the smoky beef patty, melted cheese, and crispy lettuce was just divine. Their homemade sauce was a game-changer, adding the perfect tangy touch. The fries were golden and crispy, and the portion size was generous. Everything was served hot and fresh.

When I visited Hashtag Burgers and Waffles, I immediately asked what sets them apart from other burger restaurants. Their answer? They blend traditional and modern burger combinations!

I sat down and was given the menu, and I was amazed with the massive variety of options that they have including desserts. Plus, they have vegetarian burgers for the healthy ones out there.

They had 20 different burgers to try, so it was difficult to choose. I did go with the Fried Chooky Chook– it’s one of their versions of the chicken burger, and it was great! They used the thigh part for juiciness, fresh lettuce and red onions, plus chili jam and mayo.

The chicken was massive– even bigger than the soft buns! The vegetables were crunchy too, which added to the experience. For the side, I got the Buffalo Lock N Load and the Oreo ice cream smash for dessert. That might be THE combination, people!

I do have to mention that their place is quite small, so dining with more than two people could be difficult if you want to find a seat. The service can be quite slow too. But if the food is that good, the wait will always be worth it! Just don’t go in very, very hungry.

Pros

  • Massive food variety
  • Combines modern and classic
  • Creative toppings

Cons

  • Small space

Great choice of burgers and more

Great choice of burgers and more. The burgers were very nice, fresh buns with perfectly grilled beef, chips were amazing. Good selection of sauces. Lunchtime promotion is a bargain, can’t wait to go back and try more items from the menu. Update 18/10/2024: I tried the Holy Trinity Burger, really tasty. If this burger was served up at Church on a Sunday, I would be there in a flash! Nice.

The first thing that popped into my head when I went to Ben’s Burgers was simplicity. From their menu items, to their exterior, and even their logo, they’re all about being straightforward with what they bring to the table– literally!

Since simplicity was the vibe, I didn’t think twice and ordered the Classic Burger. Just your typical beef, cheese, pickles, lettuce, onion, tomato, ketchup, mustard, and mayo. It had no gimmicks, but the flavor and freshness of the ingredients alone amazed me!

I got some Chili Cheese Fries too which was over-the-top delicious, by the way. And then I got curious and tried their house-made ginger ale which was one of the best versions I’ve had. Those two items completed the comforting trinity of deliciousness.

All of these goods despite being a quiet burger joint in an alley is downright insane, and I mean that in a positive way! Sometimes, the best experiences come from feeling like you’re home, and with the excellent staff and food from Ben’s Burgers, I felt relaxed.

Some complaints I’ve heard and read online was that they don’t have much versatility when it comes to food options. They haven’t figured out how to serve lactose intolerants, vegetarians, and people who are looking for halal items.

Maybe in the future, they’ll be able to introduce more options for people with specific preferences. Fortunately for me, all I wanted was a good affordable burger. More variety would be appreciated too though, but Ben’s Burgers is a great place if you want to chill!

Pros

  • Relaxing place
  • Great sides
  • Affordable

Cons

  • Limited food variety
  • Limited food options

Highly recommend this place

First time trying the mushroom patty burger, and I must say it’s the best veggie burger I’ve had in Australia so far. The combination of the crispy cheese and the perfectly cooked mushroom patty is simply outstanding. Additionally, the service was good. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that every detail was perfect. The overall atmosphere of the place & lane was welcoming and aesthetic. I definitely plan on coming back again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great burgers and exceptional service.

The kind of burger you look forward to after a long day

Oi, this place knows how to make a proper burger. Had the cheeseburger and it was a beauty – juicy patty, nice melty cheese, and just the right amount of sauce without going overboard. The bread didn’t fall apart halfway through like you get at some spots, and those chips? Absolute perfection. I reckon they’ve got the formula down – no weird fancy stuff, just good, solid flavours that hit the spot every time. Grab a cold drink, kick back, and enjoy. It’s the kind of burger you look forward to after a long day.

One of the best times to get a burger is during a night out where you can both eat and dance. That’s exactly what I had in mind before I went to the Greaser Bar. The place is located under the hotel, like a basement, so the vibe is quite different for a burger joint!

I heavily appreciated the music scene and the grimy aesthetic of the place when I got there, and the staff were extremely attentive despite the noise. And since the place had a unique aesthetic, I got myself an American Cheeseburger.

Apart from the flavorful and juicy grilled beef patty, the sliced Swiss cheese and American cheese were the stars of the show. They worked like the dynamic duo of any sports team you can think of! It just works, and it works beautifully.

The order also automatically comes with fries too, so that’s a huge plus. Because of that, I just chose the potato wedges on the side. They were cooked perfectly and came with sour cream and sweet chili which were out of this world. I highly recommend it!

For my drink, it was the perfect partner to any oily food– craft beer. Greaser Bar has both local and American craft beers which really hit the spot!

And I have to mention that they conveniently tag which menu items are dairy-free, gluten-free, or vegan, which is a nice touch.

The downside of the place is that, of course, it was loud. But it’s a bar that really comes with the full music experience, so if you prefer quiet dining, then this might not be the place for you. For me, though, I had a really great time with great food and people!

Pros

  • Attentive staff
  • Fries are included in meal
  • Dairy and gluten-free options
  • Craft beer available

Cons

  • Noisy

Delicious food with a good variety

We attended Greaser for our EOY work party and had a phenomenal experience. Every detail was thought of in the planning and then the wonderful surprise of having our menu and drink options printed around the bar. Amazing, attentive, and friendly staff, delicious food with a good variety for different dietary preferences. The team had fun on the punching bag and pool table. Such an awesome vibe inside with lots of space to either spread out or come together when we did our awards. Sound tech on site allowed us the use of a microphone for awards which was great as well. Can’t thank Olivia and the team enough and would highly recommend it. Dietary restrictions: There was a wide variety of options for our different dietary requirements which made it easy to cater for such a large group.

Awesome joint

Awesome joint. Dim lighting in a cosy hidden bar. Food was really good. Tried both the greaser and the chicken burgers. Both were super juicy. Very good value. Great selection of beers and the staff were very welcoming. Highly recommended.

Milky Lane’s interiors were something else when I got there. Everything from the walls, tables & chairs, and even the lighting were eye-catching. But of course, the thing that matters most is the food, and they did not disappoint!

The menu items were very unique with some options even being non-existent in the other burger joints I’ve been to. They have 11 main burger options, with each being really huge and loaded with the toppings.

I ordered the Chicken Parmy Burger, which, from the name itself, is a chicken parmesan burger. The contents included a chicken schnitzel, smoked ham, mozzarella cheese, smashed potato gems, Napoletana sauce, all on a mozzarella-coated bun.

The burger was, and I don’t mean this lightly, sensational. If you can make an invention that sets you apart from other places and also tastes good? That’s some real food craftsmanship!

I chose the humble mac & cheese as a side, and it was creamy and cheesy. The macaroni was also very firm, which I really liked. And since they call themselves Milky Lane, I also ordered a Loaded Biscoff Shake for dessert.

From the savory burger, to the creamy mac & cheese, to the perfectly sweet thick shake, I can guarantee you that Milky Lane is out of this world when it comes to the burger restaurant scene!

The only downside that I really experienced is that the service is a bit slow. You really have to make an effort for the staff to notice you, and some online reviews refer to this flaw as well. Still, the place was magical, and that’s mainly thanks to the next level food!

Pros

  • Large serving
  • Unique food options

Cons

  • Slow service
  • Expensive

So many wonderful flavours

Never disappoints! I would eat until I explode. So many wonderful flavours. Totally recommend the Bischoff skillet as a shared desert! Options to have lots of shared nibbles or loaded up burgers! Everything is very creative, including the cocktails

Definitely worth a visit

Yuuuuuuuuum. It’s so nice to find a burger place that stands out from the rest. Great value for the money you spend too – the burgers are massive and love how experimental the burgers are. The shakes were yummy. Customer service was great, we were greeted when we first walked in and again as we waited at the till to be seated – all in a very friendly and welcoming way. Definitely worth a visit!
